Definition
An abnormal growth of cells which tend to proliferate in an uncontrolled way and, in some cases, to metastasize (spread).
Cancer is not one disease. It is a group of more than 100 different and distinctive diseases.
Symptoms of cancer
The following are some of the symptoms of cancer:
The abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and break into (infiltrate) the normal body tissues. Then they start spreading throughout the body (metastasis) at a later stage. The problem occurs because the normal body tissues cannot get enough resources to survive due to the consumption of these resources by the cancerous cells.
