MindHeal: A Window To Disease

The Mind: A Window To Disease

Each one of us comes into this world with a set of challenges that can either make us stronger and wiser or become the crosses we bear throughout our lives. Inevitably, we will be tested. Of this there is no doubt. These challenges or vulnerabilities have the power to define us as they influence some of our key choices – how we cope with these challenges, how much of our life revolves around them, and whether or not we can rise above them. Think of this as your life story.

Some of the details in this story are already pencilled in. These are the tools we are given to help us navigate life’s rocky road. This toolkit is our basic constitutional and genetic make-up, and the coping skills that will get us through the tough times.

Armed with these tools, we are meant to master life’s lessons, evolve as individuals and elevate ourselves, and find peace, happiness, joy, laughter and bliss.

But how are we to learn life’s lessons?

Whether or not you pass your test with flying colours, or whether you pass it at all, depends in some measure on the quality of the toolkit you are given. But there is something much more powerful that will define your life – your perception of it.

Your perception of yourself, your thoughts about yourself and other people, your attitude towards yourself and other people and the world at large.

We only ever react to the world as we see it or interpret it. We filter every experience through our perceptions and our belief systems. These are the lenses through which we look at life and the curveballs it throws us every now and then. Scientists are now proving that our perceptions are responsible for our health and well-being and even the diseases we get.

This brings to the fore a fundamental untruth – a belief in a genetic destiny. We are taught to believe that our DNA decides the most important aspects of our lives. That it decides the way we look, our intelligence quotient, even the food allergies we suffer from, and of course our mental and physical afflictions.

The truth is that our genetic and constitutional make-up does not determine our health. Our genes predispose us in certain ways but they do not determine the illnesses we get. Even diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cancer and Alzheimer’s, which have a strong genetic component, will not manifest unless certain mental and emotional factors create an appropriate environment for them to.

Does this mean that science is wrong? Of course not. We are constantly learning new things about the human mind and body. But things get really challenging when scientists study them together, as a single entity, each one influencing the other, at all times.

It is this crucial intersection of Mind & Body – the Mind-Body Connection – that the science of Epigenetics addresses to explain our state of ease or dis-ease.

What is Epigenetics?

Epigenetics debunks the myth of genetic determinism and maintains that disease is a product of our perceptions; it is not the result of the genes we inherit.

Most people believe that disease is a flaw in the physical body. While this is correct, it is only half the truth. The whole truth is that sickness – a malfunction in the physical body – is a manifestation of an individual’s thoughts, emotions, beliefs and perceptions.

According to the science of Epigenetics, the cells in our body function in an ‘internal environment’ or a biochemical environment that is controlled by signals from the brain. And they respond in very specific ways to changes in our biochemistry.

Likewise, our genes express themselves in this same internal environment; they need triggers to wake them up and make them act in certain specific ways. These triggers are the neurotransmitters, hormones, electrolytes and other chemicals that make up their internal, biochemical environment.

So what is the role of the Mind?

We are taught to
believe in a genetic destiny but the truth is, sickness is a manifestation of our thoughts, our perception of reality

Scientists are demonstrating that human biochemistry is determined largely by mental processes, that is, perceptions, beliefs and emotions. This implies – and scientists have finally proved this – that specific thoughts or thought patterns, toxic beliefs and harmful perceptions alter our biochemistry in harmful ways, and this is what makes our cells, tissues and organs malfunction – or sick.

Since ‘Mind’ is just another word for thoughts and perceptions – your interpretation of your life and the world around you – it is your Mind that decides the state of your health.

The Mind is a Master Switch, and when flipped the wrong way, it can be the primary cause of disease.

The good news is that while your thoughts can literally make you sick, they have the ability to help you heal.

Why MindHeal Homeopathy?

MindHeal Homeopathy is a system of medicine based on the principle that the Mind is the key to restoring a patient to health. It works on the following premises:

  • Disease originates in the Mind
  • The visible ‘disease’ is symptomatic of a disease process in the body
  • Healing takes place when the disease process is reversed
  • Healing does not take place when the symptom is suppressed

MindHeal Homeopathy uses the Mind as a starting point to treat patients and cure them. Our homeopathic remedies resonate with their constitutional make-up at the genetic level, kick-start healing and alter their thought processes even as the body is returned to health.
