Definition

Hepatitis C is a chronic and infectious liver disease which leads to inflammation or swelling in the liver.

The chronic inflammation of the liver is caused due to a specific RNA virus. Also A, B, C, D, E are viruses that are known to affect the liver and produce Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis D and Hepatitis E respectively.
